Shon Zelman, you know I could go on forever. I seriously want you to consider writing a guest post on my blog. The topic can be anything of your choosing as long as you allow me to post it, and others to comment on it. I promise that I'll delete the comments of anyone who gets ignorant or snarky with you. What do you say? You've got two weeks off. Better get writing.

This is my first post. Brace yourself!

You talk about how you support military intervention in "rare cases" but you supported the war in Iraq, which was clearly a war of choice. Saddam Hussein wasn't a threat to the United States and that is why the majority of the world's population opposed it. I know what you are going to say. "The rest of the world hates America," or "they are just wimps," or whatever other conservative talking point you throw out there to attack the character and motives of the international community. The whole world supported our intervention into Afghanistan (including Pakistan), because the 9/11 attacks were planned there. When there is just cause to go to war, the international community supports it.

I can't believe you support enhanced interrogation techniques!!! Waterboardind is torture! It is simulated drowning. I just don't understand how people who claim to be "Christian" can support torturing another human being. Yes, I know the terrorists cut peoples' heads off. But they are terrorists and we are Americans. We have a different set of values.

Check this study out:
<a href="http://www.usnews.com/blogs/god-and-country/2009/04/30/poll-most-evangelicals-and-catholics-condone-torture-in-some-instances.html" target="_blank">http://www.usnews.com/blogs/god-and-country/2009/...</a>

Lastly, what the hell do you know about what is "the best organism for a healthy society"? What research do you have to support that 1 man and 1 woman together is the best family unit? Do you get this research from the 700 Club? The Heritage Foundation? Fox News? Yes, I am sure that a 2 parent house hold is better than a 1 parent, but there is no legitimate social science research that proves a heterosexual couple would produce a better life for a child than a homosexual couple. You don't have any real research and you won't find any because people that think like you have historically denied gays the right to adopt and marry. So no comparisons can be made.

I have known many gay people and they are some of the kindest, smartest and most thoughtful people I have ever known. They would make wonderful parents and it upsets me that "Christians" would deny them that right and the right to spend their lives with the people they love because it makes them feel insecure about their marriage. Give me a break!
